Welcome to the BRMFC web site

*** Restricted Field Access ***

The state government has reviewed the COVID-19 restrictions and as of Wednesday 13th May allowed groups up to 10 in outdoor gatherings. In accordance with the regulations, the BRMFC Committee has formulated a plan to manage the number of people in attendance and reopened the field on Sunday 17th May. See minutes of committee meeting held on 16th May for full details.

  • It was decided to adopt a telephone booking method which is to be made with the Secretary to register a member’s request to attend the field and will include any guests or family members.

  • This will be entered on to the attendance spreadsheet and immediately emailed to all members. This is required for any day of the week. It is recognised the numbers during weekdays will most likely not exceed 10, however to avoid any issues all attendances must be registered with the Secretary. The list will be for the upcoming 7 days.

  • Requests must be made by telephone only and can be made any time, with a preference of between the hours of 8.00am and 10.00pm on the Secretary’s mobile number 0408 420 794.

  • Time limited attendance - Time slots available will be from the start times as in the Safety Rules v1.1 to 12.30pm and 12.30pm to end of flying times (as listed in the Safety Rules v1.1). A person can remain at the field beyond this time as long as the total number in attendance will not exceed 10. If or when another pre-booked member arrives then they are to leave.

  • Eligible persons - all financial members are eligible to attend during the restriction period. Friends and relatives are also able to attend but some thought to fairness to members should be made especially in busy periods.

  • Burrumbeet - will be open to all members, however the limit of 10 with social distancing and other safety rules will apply. Due to the historically low numbers using Burrumbeet the number of members attending will be by self-regulation and will be a first-come-first-served basis.

BRMFC relocated to Trawalla as of 1st October 2014, corner of Nerring-Trawalla (Church) Road and the Western Highway Trawalla, 40kms by road WNW of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Prior to the move we flew at Spreadeagle Road Yendon for fourteen years.

Up until the end of April 2016 when the land was sold to the neighbouring Trawalla Estate, we shared operations with Dynamic Flight Park hang gliders and the occasional full size aircraft landing. Since then full size operations have ceased due to more intense farming of the land.

We also now have the field at Burrumbeet Racecourse following the integration of the former Golden Plains Model Flying Club into BRMFC.

Sunday 1st June 2008 and Wayne's Top Flite Beechcraft Bonanza (left) powered by a Saito 150 is about to have its test flight - and yes it was successful.
