Welcome to the BRMFC web site

*** Semi-Restricted Field Access ***

Due to COVID-19, the following state government rules are in place at our flying fields as of 22nd November 2020.

  • No restrictions on travel.
  • Group size allowed at the field is now 50 maximum (in one group).
  • Face masks are required to be carried but are not required to be worn whilst outside unless social distancing can’t be maintained. They are required to be worn inside a building.
  • Must still retain social distancing.
  • Must still regularly wash / sanitise.
  • Cannot use communal equipment.
  • Can open indoor facilities subject to regular and thorough cleaning.
  • Indoor areas are subject to density limits for the number of people at a time. (please be mindful of the area available at our club).
  • Still seems some doubt about club canteen and kitchen - restaurants can open but indoor sports can only have showers / change rooms / toilets.
  • Must maintain a register of who is at the field for contact tracing.

All other rules and recommendations previously put in place will continue to be in effect. See this latest news link for details.

BRMFC relocated to Trawalla as of 1st October 2014, corner of Nerring-Trawalla (Church) Road and the Western Highway Trawalla, 40kms by road WNW of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Prior to the move we flew at Spreadeagle Road Yendon for fourteen years.

Up until the end of April 2016 when the land was sold to the neighbouring Trawalla Estate, we shared operations with Dynamic Flight Park hang gliders and the occasional full size aircraft landing. Since then full size operations have ceased due to more intense farming of the land.

We also now have the field at Burrumbeet Racecourse following the integration of the former Golden Plains Model Flying Club into BRMFC.
